The BusPorchLite™ is a new school bus light that illuminates the area beside the bus, providing both the bus driver and children significantly improved visibility during load and unload in dark, low light and poor weather conditions. This improved visibility allows the school bus driver to concentrate on passenger activities, giving them greater confidence that the area beside the bus is clear during approach and prior to pulling away. Increased lighting beside the bus also leaves other drivers in no doubt as to bus activity and according to the NHTSA can form a valuable part of a "Stop-Arm Compliance Program"

Our lights have become an essential safety devise on school busses in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and British Columbia. The has has recently been mandated throughout Canada by the D250 Safety Committee as a required school bus safety component on all new busses.

Starting November 1st, 2007 the Canadian D250 Standards Committee has mandated that an exterior light be required on all new school busses throughout Canada. This important ruling will help to prevent the accidental injury of many children loading and unloading school busses in dark hours.

Our founder is a school bus driver himself. He has seen many close calls on his routes which is why he invented the BusPorchLite™. We have read newspaper articles about the many accidents and few deaths caused by a lack of visibility around school bus stops in rural communities. These types of accidents can be prevented by equipping school busses with an exterior light that illuminants dark bus stops.
